Fitting more modern cars can require both imagination and sound mechanical
understanding - here are some examples from Vauxhall enthusiasts - first from
Jeremy:
Vauxhall Corsa Mk II 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 Litre (servo not suitable - use
purge valve feed)
Fitting an Ecotek to a Corsa Mk II is only a 10 minute
job. So far I have fitted an Ecotek to a 1.4 and 1.0 litre Corsa. The fitment is
the same for all petrol Corsa’s.
The
only extra item you will need is a 1 inch length piece of rubber piping. On both
occasions I have simply cut a 1 inch piece from the pipe leading from under the
drivers wing to the Purge valve. But check that you have enough pipe do this
before you cut it off.
To start fitment locate the purge valve which simply is clipped onto the back of
the air filter housing. Unclip this, next remove the semi rigid pipe from the
rubber boot located on the purge valve leading towards the engine.
Next remove the rubber boot and place one end over
the Ecotek. Using the other piece of rubber house place this over the other end
of the Ecotek.
Now you have the simple task of reconnecting the rubber boot to the purge valve
and then connect the semi rigid pipe into the rubber pipe on the other side of
the Ecotek.
You
may need to unclip the semi-rigid pipe and you can remove an inch from the pipe
if you so desire. But if you need to remove the Ecotek for any reason you will
have to buy a new pipe. Now simply tune the Ecotek and the job is done.
The good thing about the Ecotek’s location is that is suffers a lot less from
engine vibration and is less likely to rub on other pipes. So far I have had no
problems with the running of the car and the 1 litre Corsa fuel consumption is
around 54 mpg or we are getting 300 miles from £20 worth of petrol.

Thanks Jeremy - grateful for your input. This fitting and the Astra too look
to have the CB-26P too far from the manifold, actually it's only about 25cm and
works just fine!
Phil
sent us this: "I fitted the said CP26P to my Omega
X20XEV, With some doubt in mind, I use the car for towing and SDP
normally, before a-round town I would expect to see on its on-board computer
19.8 mpg and towing 19.1mpg on a good run, (i.e. Ellesmere Port-Cornwall). I set
up the unit as per instructions and set off towing to Matlock from Ellesmere
Port (M53-M56-A6-Matlock) a variation of road at up to speeds of 65 mph.
When I arrived, I checked the distance travelled which was 71.1 miles, I
checked the Fuel computer and the car with CP26P now fitted and tuned had
returned 21.5mpg, I was impressed. The car drove very well no flat spots and
nice and smooth.
The
next day I drove 16 miles from Whatstandswell-Bakewell (A6) and reset the trip
computer, On arriving at Bakewell I check the trip computer and noted the car
had returned 35.6 mpg, never have I seen this in the 3 yrs I have owned the car.
On the return journey the car returned 36.5 mpg. The next day I drove from
Whatstandswell -Ashbourne and the car returned 38.9 mpg and at one stage was
recording 40.1 mpg until we hit road works.
The next day I returned home using the car Sat Nav system letting it
decide its route home, In which was Whatstandwell to Ellesmere Port, all A-roads
total 90 miles, I checked the trip computer and it had recorded 21.4 mpg towing,
I am now very impressed.

thanks to you Graham cb26@wizzy.org.uk for
your input, In which must of cost you time and money to do so, So thank you once
again. And thank you Ecotek for saving me money and increasing the car
performance..
