"I am very happy with my Ecotek valve, The car pulls much better in each gear and once broken in I found an improvement in fuel economy. I would recommend one to anyone. The valve works really well with the other modifications to the car (Piper X induction kit & SS Back box)" Simon has used some transparent hose to sleeve over the existing hose - when you do this be sure that the hose cannot compress with the vacuum and thus close the airway. A short length of 10mm fuel/emission hose is fine - vacuum hose is best if you can get it, this and a couple of 14mm jubilee clips and job jobbed! If you need any help contact us via the web site or ring the help line on: 01844 - 212939 Thanks Simon!
This is an earlier 16v 1.4 Vauxhall Corsa - on the left. Here fitting took no more than a few minutes and the owner says it has transformed the car. The Corsa B 1.2 - 8 Valve - on the right owned by Sam Ackers needs an Ecotek to pep up the motors performance through the gears and improve throttle response. The MAP sensor vacuum pipe highlighted with the red dot shows where the valve can be positioned. The red dot marks the spot - remember, click on the picture for an expanded view. Also, most owners report that the annoying flat spot between 1500-2000 rpm on these engines disappears with the Ecotek fitted! Andy Turner said: "Well I went ahead and purchased a CB-26P, fitted it
to my Ford Ka and I
must say I'm impressed. It really works well with the other modifications (K&N
Filter, Magnex exhaust, Superchip) and I'm sure it would work just as well with
an unmodified Ka. The best way I can describe the effect of fitting the CB26P is
to say it's like fitting a new air filter after having done 50,000 miles on the
old one - it really does make things seem... "cleaner" somehow. Try also the Kool-Ka site - lots of tips on how to mod your Ka and some comments on the CB-26P too! Click this link: www.kool-Ka.com and go to 'Engine' mods.
"Fitment of the device was fairly straightforward. After locating and cutting the brake servo vacuum hose, I then heated the ends of the hose to soften it up and enable it to slip over the unions. The hose was then secured with jubilee clips and the provided instructions for tuning the device were followed. There's just enough space to fit the device with the Pipercross filter right next to the inlet manifold. Initial impressions are good with a low rev flat spot seemingly eliminated and the low down drivability improved. Cheers, Andy.
Andrew Parsons from Freshfield, Merseyside wrote to us with these pictures of
the device fitted to his Frontera Sport and said:
"The difference
the Ecotek valve has made to the vehicle is very impressive. Engine response is
significantly better and a flat spot has been completely eliminated.
Fitting the valve to the vacuum pipe was extremely simple as the pipe is the perfect size for the Ecotek - tuning was also easy and the noise wasn't noticeable from inside and shouldn't be of any concern. I am very impressed with the Ecotek and will not hesitate in recommending it to other Frontera owners." Dr Ben contacted us in late 2006: "I didn't really expect much from such a simple to fit product (and not expensive) to my 2.2i Petrol Vauxhall Frontera. I was surprised - immediately the engine ran smoother and the power delivery more even, first tank of petrol I got a 10% increase in mileage. After a little tweaking of the valve by the third tank, and I still can't believe this, I have gone from 320 miles per tank to at least 420, sometime 450, miles per tank!!!! with NO CHANGE IN MY DRIVING this is a 30% increased in economy for me - equalling £20 per tank!!!. Device paid for it's self in three fills. The slight whine from the engine bay often triggers questions from passers by and I have no hesitation in explaining what it's caused by and recommending your product (even my mechanic was impressed). MOT next week so we'll see what it does for the emissions. So Far VERY VERY HAPPY" Dr Benjamin Upton BSc MBBS
