The Ecotek CB-26P works well on the range of Vauxhall cars, including curing the flat spots on the new Frontera - click here for details

Here we show the fitting for the Cavalier 2.0 CDi. On this car the customer got 18% petrol saving and considerably improved engine response. The brake servo pipe is the perfect size for the device and fitting is a very simple affair. Click here for the later X20XEV engined Cavalier 16v.

Rather more involved is fitting the Ford range - early Escort and Fiesta models have a vacuum breather pipe which is easy to fit but a number of the later models have narrow guage vacuum servo pipe such as this Ford Puma with a 1.6 Zetec engine.

Here you need to cut the pipe and sleeve over each end with 9.5 mm (5/16th) fuel/emission hose and two (or four for a thorough job) 13-16mm Jubilee clips. It's worth the trouble though - there is a noticeable improvement in responsiveness and fuel economy.

The Mercedes range are a dream to fit. This Merc 190E belongs to Mike Ford of Crystal Motors who stock and fit the device (see suppliers) and he reckons he gets more than 20% in fuel savings - but he would, wouldn't he! To be fair though he tested the device thoroughly before involving his garage - give him a call on 01293 - 886691 or visit: www.crystalmotors.com

At a recent MoT Mikes emissions from the 140,000 mile motor read as follows: CO (max for MoT 3.5% volume) was 0.30% against the manufacturers spec of 1.5%. Hydrocarbons (max for MoT 1200 ppm) were 90 ppm against manufacturers 300 ppm. This means the Merc uses less petrol because it burns it more efficiently. Ring Mike at work on 01293 - 886691 and he happily tell you all about it.

The range of Mercedes cars benefit considerably from the CB-26P not only because of the potential fuel savings but because the cars last so long many pre-catalytic converter cars are still in daily use; earlier S Class cars are transformed by a pair of CB-26's - we hear rumours that a Mercedes technician is testing one on his new E Class but we haven't had a phone call yet!

People ask how long the CB-26P will last. It's guaranteed for two years and this Citroen AX10 has done more than 65,000 miles with the device fitted without a hitch.

Still serviced by the Citroen garage they can't believe the emission readings when they do the MOT. The owner claims to get ridiculous petrol consumption figures (we think he could be exaggerating) but anyway it proves how durable the device is.

This is a carburettor car and the CB-26P is acknowledged as being particularly effective in providing a better fuel air mix especially in conditions that involve hard acceleration and deceleration as well as at higher speeds.
