bmw1.jpg (108432 bytes)This is Matt Rooke's BMW M3 Evo - it's fitted with just about every AC Schnitzer tuning accessory and now - of course - it has twin Ecoteks fitted!

The car is currently pushing 350bhp - helped by a custom Unichip ECU, K&N Air filter and Scorpion Exhaust system.

Matt got the Ecotek's to improve fuel consumption and gets an extra 4 mpg (about 15%) and he quite likes the induction noise! As a result he has fitted one to his wife's Emma's Audi A3  click here to see how she's getting on with it.

bmw_m32.gif (81613 bytes)This is Roy Carvalho's BMW E36 M3 and, appropriately enough, Roy runs CA Automotive which specialises in Anti Speed Detection equipment. Roy fitted twin Ecotek's to the M3 a few months ago and tells us they made a quite definite improvement in the engines 'driveability'.

bmw_m34.gif (131153 bytes)It was smoother and more tractable at lower revs and what's more there was a significant improvement in the emissions. He kindly sent us the shots of the car and engine as well as the results of before and after emissions tests (see below). Whilst the Ecotek CB-26P was designed primarily as an emission and economy device it is increasingly being used as a performance accessory and in the motor sports world - on the 'Reviews' page there are lots of Press and Magazine articles as well as testimonials confirming the performance improvements of the device. It apparently even cures 'kangarooing' on 205 and 309 Peugeot GTi's. The VW GTi owners club has written a full page review of the device and it has subsequently proved very popular with GTi Golf enthusiasts. The essential reason for all this is the basic improvement in combustion that the Ecotek provides, whilst this improves emissions and saves petrol, it also means improved efficiency and this means better performance.

bmw_m35.gif (119561 bytes)This M3 is an excellent example of a dual fitting, required for cars with an engine capacity of more than 2,600 c.c's, and as the M3's Gas test readings show, the device brings O2 readings up to the right level (as you can see they are too low before the Ecoteks' are fitted) and despite the presence of a Catalytic Converter on the car, CO's are reduced by 50%, Hydrocarbons by 61% with an additional marginal reduction in CO2. This represents much improved combustion as any expert will tell you, furthermore rolling road tests confirm the improvements remain throughout the rev range (see the 'Reviews' and 'Test Results' pages).

On the left are the BMW M3's emission readings without the Ecoteks' fitted and on the right are the readings with.
