205_gt2.gif (68527 bytes)REVS and Fast Car magazines have reviewed the effects the Ecotek CB-26P has on the Peugeot 205 Gti which is renowned for lumpy tick-over and kangarooing at low revs.

Motoscope also did a rolling road test and their comments are on the Reviews page - click here.

These are copies of the Revs and Fast Car articles - click on the picture to expand it and to return click the 'Back' button on your browser. Sid from REVS sums it all up in his inimitable style:

"Any one with a Pug 205/309 Gti will know what I mean when I say the word 'kangaroo' - that dreaded jerking you get on light throttle.

Until now that's only been curable with expensive re-mapping work. A conversation with Mr Ecotek earlier this week told me of the hidden qualities his widget has with sporty Pugs (oh er). So, to the test.

205_gt1.gif (133100 bytes)We fitted one to Paul The Squirrel's 205 1.9 GTi, as his has a dose of hopscotch throttle. Fitting's easy - a 10 minute job maximum, even Bepe could do it. Once on and tuned, the squirrel went home. Next morning Paul reported his Pug started easier, ran better and kangaroo'd less - result."

Steve Silk from Fast Car Magazine noted: "The first thing I noticed was that the cars tendency to 'hunt' for revs, especially when cold had suddenly gone. The kangarooing effect 205's are famed for had also lessened while a squirt of the go pedal showed more willing response."

So there you have it - need we say more!
